Hello to all! Today is February 21, 2005 and a warm drizzly day in North Carolina. I am excited about getting a little wet. Our soil is so dry (we are 5 inches to the light!) and I can't dig to plant my new bushes. It is as though I am trying to cut through cement!

Today starts another week and a new phase of our experiments. We are injecting mice with our new anthrax vaccine. In about three weeks, we will look for titers of antibody against our protein. Say a prayer...this could be good!! If this works, we may have found a beautiful way of introducing strong antigen by means of a natural carrier protein!

Locating relatives of long ago is a huge amount of work and follow up! Since geneology is one hobby of mine, I really appreciated my Dad's work in finding relatives locating in England. These relatives are also pitching in and tracing family ties! I thought I would post his email to me in case any of you are interesting in locating some names also!

-----Hi daughter,
"Ow bist ol' butt?" I am not too sure what this means but I think it's good. A not-close-related Rutland Boughton of Gloucester with whom I have been sharing email greeted me with this remark. Claims it is an old "foresters" greeting often heard in the local pubs. Since our family of Boughtons emigrated from, and still lives in, the Mitcheldean Forest area they are referred to as "foresters". Sheila Fowler told me she had contacted you. She has been very helpful in tracing our ancesters. I also have contact with Miss Elsie Boughton who is also confirmed cousin. Miss Elsie is a 75 year old spinstress who is partially invalid but gets around on her "scooter". She is computer literate and seems very sweet. Another contact I have made, not related but very helpful in ancestry is Vivienne Lilliott, "viv. -----

Good luck to all!
